Welcome back to another week of the “Share Your Story” series. Last week Kirsty from Navigating Baby telling us what it is like raising 4 children under 4. Busy would be an understatement! This week I have the very lovely Natalie from Crazy Little Thing Called Love sharing her story…
Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Natalie can usually be found with coffee in her hand, blogging about love and life, and everything that goes hand in hand with that.
Her Story So Far…
My story began last year in April 2017.
I was single, rapidly approaching 40 years old and getting decidedly fed up with the dating sites and apps.
After a particularly hilarious chain of events leading up to a date made my friends giggle it was decided, with some persuasion and a lot of alcohol, that I should share these stories. So after a girls night I went home in the early hours of the morning and ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’ came to life.
As I sat pondering what to write and wondering if anyone would read it, I decided from that moment on to just write from the heart. And that’s exactly what I always do.
That disastrous date night went something like this…
…After having the obligatory meltdown over what outfit to wear, I was of course running late.
When I finally left the house one of my nails pinged off. I then had to rush back inside to stick it back on, in my hurry to do so I ended up with nail glue in my mouth! Finally I was on my way, seriously late now! As I jumped out of the car my shoe broke, cue me hobbling into the bar feeling even worse than I had been already! Despite all that I still found myself sitting in McDonald’s a few days later with one of my best friends asking her advice on how to politely decline a second date!
A few more dates followed and I really was beginning to get fed up with it all.
I was so close to deleting the apps and giving it all up. Thankfully fate had other plans for me, and I can honestly say that I am so glad I hadn’t given up. Unbeknown to me, someone very special was about to make an entrance into my life and change things in a wonderful way.
Yes you’ve guessed it. I met my lovely boyfriend online.
These days, my little blog is nearly a year old and my goodness how things have changed.
I no longer blog about dating.
I’m happy to say I write about this crazy life of mine, which mainly consists of drinking too much coffee, running around after the kids, attempting to party like I’m still 21 years old whilst making fabulous memories with my nearest and dearest.
Life is most certainly a rollercoaster, full of twists and turns, this journey has brought me here today and I love it. Who knew when I started my blog that the man of my dreams was just around the corner.
It just goes to show that you never know when that ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’ might take you by surprise.❤️x
That’s such a lovely story Natalie, thank you for sharing. And what a nightmare date! It did make me smile!
