We say it all the time don’t we, that the time has flown by. We can’t believe it is Christmas or the end of another year. But it happens every year and here we are again.
As I sit here tonight frantically cramming in the last posts I need to write, clearing emails, putting on my out of office, I sit with a smile. Content, that after a hectic year we are finally settled and ready to embrace the year ahead.
This year has been tough. With us making the decision to move in January and not actually moving until the end of September it has absorbed most of our time. We’ve had sales fall through, house prices lowered, lost the house we wanted. And you know what, I now know I’m glad, as we are in the house we should be in. Raising children in a street where the neighbours wave and say hello. Put your bin out if you forget and remember each others names. It’s home.
Reuben started school and that was a big change for him. New friends, new routines, learning and it has been fast paced and he loves it. He has learned so much.
Jessica has rapidly learned to put sentences together and her personality shines more every day.
I can’t wait to see how they flourish in themselves in the next 12 months, they amaze me every day.
It has been an emotional, draining, tiring, exciting, wonderful year but I can guarantee you one thing, next year will not be so hectic. We plan to have a more relaxed year. Some weekend breaks, visit the beach, have picnics kind of year. We have some decorating we want to do but on the whole we need to recharge and next year is about connecting as a family in our new house and relaxing.
So, as I draw to a close, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Happy New Year. Thank you for your support and I hope to see you back soon.
