August diary

July’s Journey; A Monthly Review

3rd August 2017

July was such a busy month for us. Two new babies, my birthday, my sisters’ birthday, a charity Mini Professors class, a charity Baby Sensory class and I went for a Chinese with some friends. So it really is no wonder that it went by in a bit of blur and so here we are in August. This is the month my baby girl turns one so it’s going to be pretty important!

So, let’s take a quick look at last month.

The Family.

So as I’ve said it was my birthday last month. Sam always struggles with buying me gifts. But, in his own words, “he put some thought in to it this time” and completely took me by surprise. I have been wanting a camera for such a long time. Now that I am using a camera more often Sam made the decision to buy me one. He bought me the Canon Powershot SX60 HS. I’m not going to lie, I know little about cameras but this seems to be pretty good. Now I need to sharpen my camera skills.

Jessica has started confidently cruising around the sofa. She will let go and stand still, think about making steps on her own and then sit down and crawl along the floor. I don’t think it will be much longer until she is walking unaided.

Reuben has had a big change, all of his friends at preschool have moved up to school now. It now means that he has been left ‘behind’ as he doesn’t go to school this year. It has been hard on him but we’re lucky that he has a supportive preschool and he is starting to deal with it in a better way.

The Blog

Blogging has opened up so many amazing opportunities to us. This month we have reviewed some Despicable Me Cutlery & Dinner set and a Sensse Facial Toner. If you’ve not seen them then do pop over and take a look.

I started blogging as a way to keep my brain functioning whilst on Maternity Leave. I had no idea really where it would lead, I certainly didn’t expect it be so addictive.

My Blog stats for July;

Blog Love

Some of my favourite posts for July are;

“I Saw You Today” by Carly from Happy New Mums post, because sometimes you just need to be reassured!

“Becoming Aware of Children’s Mental Health” by Michelle at The Muddled Mother. I was so shocked that there is 3 children in every classroom that suffer from mental health problems. If we can raise more awareness then maybe this number can improve.

Child Grooming & Abduction – A True Story” by The Prince Blog. I stumbled across this blog this month and this post must have been so difficult to write about. It is a scary thought your child going through this but it is important as parents that we know how it might happen.

So, how has your month been?
Have you planned loads of activities for the summer holidays? Is the grey, wet weather hindering those plans? Let me know what you’ve been up to.
