Today is your second birthday.
It doesn’t feel like a year ago I wrote about you turning one, let alone two years ago since you came into the world. The time has gone by so quickly. I have a feeling I will be repeating that sentence for the rest of my life.
Getting to know you the last two years has been a bit of a rollercoaster for sure, a good one but my god, you are a ball of energy. I don’t know if it is because you are trying to do what Reuben does, but you have definitely given me more grey hairs than your brother. You seem to pick up on what he is doing and decide that anything he can do you can do better. You don’t care he is three years older than you. It ends in tears a lot of the time, sometimes your and sometimes mine.
Your personality has started to shine as you become a toddler and your own person. No and Why have become your favourite words. Whilst I don’t normally mind when you throw in a banshee scream it can be tiresome. You push me to the edge and then throw your arms around my neck and say love you Mummy. You know how to push my buttons then throw a cheeky grin.
I can’t believe how much you are constantly learning. Nursery rhymes you can recite, counting to ten, you amaze me everyday. You are independent and daring. You’re going to be feisty, I can tell. Raising a strong girl is hard but enjoyable. Thank god for wine.
Whist it is hard I wouldn’t change any of it for the world. Even the 5am wake up, I do love it when you climb into bed and fall back to sleep. It’s the rolling around a bit later that is hard to deal with. If you could sleep until 7 that would be great! Ha ha. Don’t change anything. Keep asking why, you’ll learn quicker. Always ask questions and challenge us.
I hope you’ve enjoyed your second birthday sweetheart, let’s see what the next year brings…
Lots of Love
