*We were given free entry in exchange for promotion and review of the Big Fish Little Fish event. As always thoughts are my own.
I don’t often speak about my younger, wilder, clubbing days. But, I used to love going out on a weekend and having a good dance. I would be found dancing all night long on the dance floor with my furry boot covers and tight fluorescent clothes. It was always a good night. I haven’t been raving now for many years, but I still have a love for the music. Sam also loves dance music and this seems to have rubbed off on the children. So the idea of a family rave! Well I just had to try it out.
Big Fish, Little Fish Family Rave
The first time I heard about Big Fish, Little Fish family raves was on Mrs Mummy Harris Blog. and I thought it sounded amazing! A rave that was aimed at 0-8 year olds and their families. The only problem was there wasn’t any near me that we would be able to go to! Such a shame. And then when they did come I missed it, typical!
However, a year later and they are coming back to Norfolk! I happened to come across the Norwich Big Fish Little Fish Facebook event, and added it to my interested items so I could check the dates. They were fine, we were planning to go. Then we were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to work with Big Fish Little Fish and attend on their guest list. Erm, yes please! So, we are going, and we are excited!
Are you going? Or are you considering it but not sure if it is for you?
Big Fish Little Fish Background
Big Fish Little Fish have been putting on multi award-winning events (Winner of Best Family Event, Family Festival Awards 2014-18, Time Out ‘101 Things to do with Kids in London) since 2013. They have entertained over 150,000 family ravers up and down the UK and have now launched in Australia. Events have been organised in lots of venues including Alexandra Palace, the V+A and Glastonbury.
Using their own experience as ravers and parents, Big Fish Little Fish have created social, daft fun for all ages. Their events are relaxed, entertaining, and somewhere adults enjoy themselves as much as the children.
‘Raving always came from the heart, a way to express a love of music and dancing with your friends. BFLF extends that across the generations so you can rave with your family too. It’s a celebration of life, love, unity and music. Together on the dance floor. ‘ – Hannah BFLF Founder

What to Expect at the Event
This isn’t like a ‘normal’ rave. Remember this is also aimed at families and so there is so much more to do then just dance!!
The event will take place 29 July 2018 at Chapelfield Gardens, Norwich in a big top tent with outside lots of space. If the weather stays like this it’ll be lovely! Each event has a theme and this time it is a circus theme. Fancy dress is encouraged but completely optional! The event is aimed at 0-8 year olds and their families. Don’t worry though as adults are not admitted unless they are accompanied by a child!
World famous DJ`s Nookie + Trax alongside live percussionist Paul Fistfunk Crowley will be performing to the family ravers!
DJ`s will be playing (grown up) oldschool dance music along with confetti cannons, bubbles, giant parachute dance, themed crafts, stilt walking rave dancer, Playdoh table, giant mural, face painting stall and so much more!
Raves are normally very loud, but BFLF have thought of everything! Being a family event they have reduced the volume of the music so that it is safe for children’s eardrums! And, there aren’t any strobe lighting so you don’t need to worry about that either. Obviously it is still a rave and so it will be busy and it will be loud but within safe limits for your little party people! You’re sure to have a fab time!
So, will you be coming? Let me know if we’re likely to see you there?
