WOW! Two weeks into May and I’m only now getting round to writing down how April went. Well, it went in a blink and a blur just like the rest of the year! So, here’s what we have been up to.
Another packed month for us in April.
At the start of the month we went on the Gruffalo Hunt at High Lodge, Thetford. It was a beautiful day and a glimpse of summer. Talking of a glimpse of summer, do you remember the day that was a summer’s day? Seems so long ago now doesn’t it but it did happen and we made the most of it by spending some time in the sunshine.
Half term happened! Yes it did. Two weeks of keeping Reuben occupied is not easy. We did manage a few trips to the park, his favourite day was when we went to the farm with my friend, her sister and their children. It was a little chilly but we saw a some lambs being born.
Reuben’s started to hold his pencils correctly and so we have started to get him to practice writing his name by joining the dots. I hope that by writing the letters he will start to recognise them more. Jessica graduated from Baby Sensory which was a sad moment, there is a post coming up on our Baby Sensory experience so do keep an eye out.
The biggest thing for us this month has to be our first family holiday together at Butlins. It was so lovely to get away from the house and not worry about housework or cooking. We had a lovely time and you can read about that here.
And how could I forget? We became a family of five just after our holiday when we adopted the lovely Lola from the Cats Protection.
Things have started to get quite exciting for me on the blog. I wrote my first review for a company in exchange for the item; Learning Resources sent us their Playfoam Letter kit. We have also agreed with some more work with other companies, so watch this space.
I was featured by the lovely Lianne from Mrs Mummy Harris on her “A Picture Says A Thousand Words” series.

This is such an honest post and really made me think about what I do and more importantly don’t do for me. It is so easy to forget ourselves when we shouldn’t. Do have a read of it!
Capturing Moments by Dilan and Me
Lauren is such an honest and open writer and I can find myself lost on her blog for a long time. This post really struck a chord with me. Being in photos. I have seen many times comments now on parents being in photos. We need to make sure we are, otherwise what will we leave our children?
So, that’s the highlights of our hectic month and things are only set to get busier now I’ve returned to work!
What have you guys been up to? I would love to hear about it in the comments below.
